Describe an article on health you read in
magazine or on the internet.
What it was?
Where you read it?
When you read it?
And how you felt about it?
Well, I am an avid reader. I enjoy reading the newspaper and
articles on different topics. Here I would talk about a health article which I
have read recently on the Internet.
Actually, last Sunday I was inspecting Facebook to discover new
posts from my friends. So on that day, I came across a link to a health-related
article. The title of the article was “Health is wealth''.
The author mentioned various things about health. He explained
that nowadays people tend to eat fast food rather than cooking fresh meals at
home. Unlike living conditions have increased the contraction of people to
various diseases like obesity, diabetes, heart attacks, hypertension, etc. Due
to technological advancements, people have exchanged the available time for
exercise with browsing the internet, watching television, and checking their
accounts on social media websites. They also prefer to drive than to walk, use
washing machines than clean their clothes manually.
The writer also recommended some remedies for a healthy
lifestyle. Firstly, a balanced diet is one of the best ways to stay healthy. It
includes proteins, vitamins, and minerals in equal proportion. So, this diet
has multifarious benefits and it also maintains the body weight. Secondly, a
good walk can reduce the cholesterol level and it increases the efficiency of
heart and lungs as well as reduces blood pressure. Thirdly, Unlike a machine,
the body needs rest at regular intervals. A minimum of six to seven hours of
sleep is necessary for the body to function optimally.
After reading the whole article, I realized that health is
wealth because if we are not healthy then all our wealth, fame and power can
bring no enjoyment. keeping fit and healthy is indeed not an option but a
necessity.
Follow-ups
1. Why is it that different people want to
see different magazines?
Different people like to read different
magazines because their interests are different. Those who love sports read
sports magazines, such as Sports Today; those who like fashion, read fashion
magazines, such as Vogue; those interested in film celebrities, read magazines
like Stardust and Film Fare. But two types of magazines are more popular in
India such as sports and fashion.
2. What type of
magazines do teens prefer to read?
I guess boys like to read sports magazines
because I think teenagers are big fans of cricket. On the other hand, Girls
mostly prefer to read fashion-related magazines and stories of famous
celebrities.
3. What is the distinction between
information on TV and information in magazines?
The amount of content and how sensitive they
can make these are two major differences.
However, over the broadcast on TV people may miss certain details. One
big advantage of TV is that you remained updated within every minute but
magazines provide the last 15 days of information.
4. Do people like to read news
from the internet?
Absolutely, people prefer to use
the internet for reading news online especially through their mobile
applications. They are already using the internet to a much larger extent than
they check for weather updates, news updates, and watch talk shows online on
their computers or mobiles.
5. Do people
still buy magazines in your country?
Yes, People
still buy magazines to access information that is specifically tailored for
their interests, class, or age group. They also read magazines because they
contain the fine details of an event, a personality, or phenomenon.
6. Do you think
people today are healthier than those in the past?
According to my opinion, the old generation was more healthy but going by the statistics the longevity of human beings has increased multi fold in the last generations as there was less pollution, stress, lifestyle related diseases. But people used to die for want of treatments, medicines which weren't available for many diseases in the earlier days. Thanks to modern medicine the life of humans is increasing but can't say anything about the quality of life.
